Dream Big & Soldier On- Pisces New Moon 3/2016

We have a new moon coming at us today in Pisces. It already feels like a magical time but when a solar eclipse is added in, some folks may feel like the stakes are ramped up. Here’s the chart for new moon tonight at 8:54ET.

Of course, this is a time to set new intentions. Piscean type goals would be a good look for this lunar cycle- spiritual service, compassion, creative endeavors, forgiveness and tie cutting work, etc. Depending on the house this new moon occupies in your chart it, could mean different things for you than for me or anyone else. This new moon happens in my second house so this could be a great time to ask for forgiveness from me if you owe me money (no guarantees at all).

In general, the mutable water energy of Pisces reminds us to dream big and reconnect. Mutable signs clear out what could go stagnant due to the fixed signs that come before them. Stuffy emotional energy is cleated our with Pisces. When the ties that have grown heavy keep us from moving forward, Pisces clears it up.13c1c5fd6fe3158a42579c1cb4b4185b By practicing compassion and faith, we are able to slough off the emotional cobwebs that can hinder us from looking at what could be instead of what already is. That’s the beauty of Pisces. By having us accept things and people as they are we can move into space that opens us to source and dreams beyond imagination.

This new moon is opposed by Jupiter in Virgo so a word of caution is necessary. Don’t go overboard with rose colored glasses in order to move forward. Use the square of Saturn in Sagittarius, which others may see as a hard aspect to deal with but I see it as useful for this setup, to keep your feet grounded as you dream. Jupiter typically likes to go overboard but with it being in Virgo that tendency could be limited in most areas except for nervous tension and worries. I think it should be noted that this new moon happens in Pisces but touches on planet in sign combos that push for a melding of big ideas with realistic planning. If you don’t really want it to happen, don’t start it now. Be as sure as you can. Stay open to possibilities but get as clear as you can to start.

PSA: No, You Are Not An Aries/Taurus/Gemini/etc.

Astrological zodiac signs ARE NOT people.

There are no Gemini’s. There are some people with their sun in Gemini however. There are no Pisces’s. There are people who have some (never all) planets and/or points that are colored by Piscean energy.

Let astrology open you up to the multifaceted you. Not a diminished caricature or incomplete picture. Astrology has focused on more than just the zodiac signs for centuries across most civilizations. Don’t sell it or yourself short by reducing who you are to just your sun sign.

August 2015- Pisces Full Moon/ So How Do We Get There?

I recorded a video to give my take on today’s full moon in Pisces. It would have been up earlier but YouTube.

If you want a quick take away (because I still don’t feel like a lot of typing) it’s this- emotion and logic both have their place in life. Sometimes you gotta feel it out first, then work it out next. Lead with heart but let your brain do the walking. Trust your intuition and hunches but don’t allow yourself to get carried away. Verify and refine.

Here ya go

Get Ready! New Moon, Eclipse, and the start of Aries season 3/20/2015

The first day of spring is starting to look like it is coming in with a bang. March 20th is a day that includes the Spring equinox, a new moon, AND a solar eclipse. Whew!

First up is the new moon and solar eclipse. The new moon (which is also a super moon) occurs in the 29th degree of Pisces at 5:36 am Eastern. New moons represent new journeys and new beginnings. They are fraught with promise and hope. Occurring in the last degree of Pisces, this new moon gets an extra push for us to dream of what we want before we head out to get it. 29 degrees is always a heady place for any planet and that is certainly true of a new moon and eclipse. Pisces wants us to dream, to not see things as they are but as they could be. The Pisces new moon wants us to get emotionally connected, with ourselves and the world. As a mutable water sign, the fishes give the moon an almost psychic level of intuition. Mutable signs tidy things up before a big change, they clear out the old to make way for the new. Combine that with the water element and we get a fresh emotional start for our new moon. Negatively expressed, this could lead folks to run headlong into their dream world with little consideration for reality. The inability to change their surroundings to suit them can start a journey of escapism that may not end well. Keep that in mind as you set your intentions, especially for this new moon.

Why? Because the new moon is occurring during a full solar eclipse. The meeting of sun and moon make for a heady combination. Symbolically, our conscious light will be covered by our unconscious reflections of that light. This will start at 5:09am Eastern and end at 6:22am for full viewing. Partial viewing times are from 3:41am Eastern until 7:50am. cleanThese are powerful moments because we have two options essentially- to allow our unconscious and emotions to come forth to be examined by the light so that we can use them as guideposts or to fear the unknown and stay disconnected. I think everyone can agree that option two is not really an option.

These two heavenly bodies joining during a new moon and solar eclipse can be seen as a merging of the feminine and masculine archetypes that birth every journey. The conscious and subconscious merging to make a complete person or the active and reactive natures that embody every living thing. Understand that this energy is freely at our disposal in a sign that always whispers to us that everything was once just a thought, a dream, an idea. Allow your creative juices to flow in a way that can give birth to a new chapter for yourself. Connect to others and allow them to inspire you to change your world.

walkAlmost a complete 12 hours later, the sun will enter Aries and a new journey begins. The cycle of the zodiac starts fresh, so to speak, and it seems very appropriate given the astrological activities of the moment. When the sun moves into the sign of the ram, our consciousness turns to not just new journeys but to ourselves. Like a hero that sets off towards the sun, the sun in Aries moves with vigor and a focus on how to make its mark in the world. The sun does not ask us do this for recognition however when it moves into Aries. It asks us to do so because new journeys must be continually taken in order to shape and define us. The need to pander to others is lessened because Aries gives the sun a tough edge that focuses on individuality and making your own way. A bit brashly and impulsively, because Aries is a cardinal fire sign, but with an ability to bounce back.

The Uranus/Pluto Square is still in effect during this time so try to temper your urge to destroy and rebuild with some foresight and planning. The Saturn/Neptune square could help in dreaming big if we allow Saturn in Sagittarius to keep a realistic yet optimistic eye on the big picture truth.

All of these events will have an effect on a big scale but where it matters is where they will be happening in your personal birth chart. A new moon/solar eclipse in the second house could mean new understandings of self worth and new opportunities for growth of personal resources. However the same event in the 6th house could denote a new diet or health regimen as well as a reorganizing of home and work by fine tuning details.

If you are unsure of where the new moon will be taking place in you chart and would like more information and insight, send me a line to schedule a consultation. As always, stay easy folks.

What’s happening on 3/17/2015

It’s Saint Patrick”s day here in the states but things could be anything but calm. It is still officially Pisces season with the sun making its way through the last few degrees of the sign before the cycle starts again in Aries on March 20th. The goal for all of us is still compassionate integration as a whole but some other aspects are calling for a big change in how we do so.

The moon is in Aquarius, growing darker by the minute as we prepare for a new moon in a few days. The moon in Aquarius doesn’t necessarily stifle emotions but it does force us to think aboutimages them and how they can truly benefit our current circumstance. An uneasy melding of head and heart so to speak.

Mercury is still in Pisces so our thoughts are still turning towards bridging the gap between our reality and dreams. We are thinking of possibilities still and it could  be enhanced by the planets growing conjunction with Neptune. Seeing beyond the veil is possible but the watery planet can give credence to false thoughts and plans when the two meet as well. The connection that Mercury has with Saturn is slowly fading so the ability to dream is growing but don’t forget to look for ways to ground those dreams in reality. Since they are separating, the heaviness and all or nothing feel of our thought process should be lifting a bit.

Venus has just slid into to Taurus so good food, good wine, and physical pleasures should be on the rise for many of us. Venus is very at home in Taurus and can be a bit self indulgent so keep an eye on what you are bringing in, to your body, mind, and spirit. (Folks love to call Venus the planet of the law of attraction)

Mars is still soldiering through Aries. Mars in Aries allows us to think of self in a very clear cut and visceral way. We move on our desires with vigor and focus, not necessarily a lot of planning though. The planet of the human ego is in contact with Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto today. The connection to these planets suggests that our will and drive may come from a place of expanding our desire for recognition (Mars trine Jupiter in Leo) but it will not flow so smoothly because sudden influences could have us shaken up to our core (Mars conjunct Uranus in Aries) and looking to secretly rail against opposition in authority(Mars  square Pluto in Capricorn). Self awareness in key to keeping a level head and not making things worse than they already are.

Jupiter is still retrograde in Leo. The planet of expansion, faith, and optimismb23efcb720327598060af06f92014044 is journeying backwards suggesting a need to for us all to reexamine what or WHOM we put our faith in. Retrograde planets ask us to slow down like they do because as humans we have a tendency to rush forward at times without recognizing that our perspective needs to change. Retrograde planets ask us all to reassess our perspective in regards to the energy that the planet represents, in my opinion.

Saturn is station retrograde in Sagittarius meaning that it is about to “go backwards”. Saturn deals with restrictions and boundaries. Sagittarius modifies this energy by asking us to search for the rules and boundaries of the bigger truths. Sagittarius loves to expand but Saturn does the opp osite so this is a conflicting but doable pairing. Be on the lookout for times where you can thoroughly find balance in the rules of your personal philosophy, not too lax and not too strict. Neptune squaring Saturn could have us being a bit hard on our selves but don’t fall into the trap. Look realistically, not harshly, at what you have done and how you can build upon it for the future.

Uranus is in Aries so insight into our personal self can happen today. Neptune is in Pisces so we are still able to see the beauty beyond what is presented but we also can lose sight of reality if we are not careful. Pluto is in Capricorn so we are still looking for ways to make room for new hierarchies and governing structures in our lives. The muck and decay we have tried to hide is coming to the forefront.

There is A LOT of talk about Uranus squaring Pluto lately, seeing as how it is the last of a series of seven that started in 2012. Think about how many seemingly revolutionary movements have taken place in that time period.RWS_Tarot_16_Tower Uranus squared Pluto when the Occupy Movement began in 2013, during the Great Depression of 1930’s, and at the start of the “Gilded Age of America” and the Chinese and Indian famine of the 1870’s. Lots of upheaval and change to long lasting structures took place. The Occupy Movement showcases a very real Uranus in Aries reaction to the crumbling and unearthing influence that Pluto has. It focused on the power of individuals to radical change to the landscape of their nations structures and their lives own lives. Remember, even though Uranus can push us to move quickly, we must keep in my mind that Pluto does not. The change that Pluto makes develop over a long period, for generations so move with purpose and wisdom of not just what you want for today but also what you want for your and your children’s futures.

Keep smiling good peoples and I’ll see you again soon
