Big Badda Boom- Aries New Moon 4/2016

There was a new moon this morning, 7:24 am ET to be exact, in the sign of Aries. The sun meet up with the moon in Aries at 18 degrees to start a new lunar chapter. The sun in Aries already ups the general bravery factor. People often associate that bravery in Aries with fearlessness but it is not so much fearlessness as it is a compelling need to do what they feel needs to be done. The fear is still there but it is surmounted by a bigger fear of being stuck and missing out.

This new moon definitely has us itching and willing to venture out. The configuration also remind me of Leelo Dallas in The Fifth Element. 251-the-fifth-element-movie-review-bruce-willis-corbin-dallas-milla-jovovich-leeloo-1997Why? Well because like Aries, Leelo had that spark. That special something that made her unique, first of her kind. Willing to fight for her cause even if it meant her own death (sun in Aries) and focused on it in a way that spurred her forward even when the deck was stacked against her (moon in Aries). Not to mention she caused a lot of head injuries lol.

There is also the sudden nature of her coming into being and the serendipitous way that she met Corbin Dallas that is indicative of the Uranus in Aries conjunction to the sun and moon. Intuitive leaps forward both mentally by the scientist and physically by Leelo caused a change in the tide and the course of human history in this movie. Those same scientists and Leelo engage in a power struggle that exposes weaknesses in government bodies, so much so that they do not understand when there authority is being undetermined from multiple sides. That can be associated with the square that the new moon has with Pluto in Capricorn.

Searching for what she knew to be right helped not just herself but others. She knew her purpose and was willing to act to make it happen. She even made a plan, albeit a hasty one, and it allowed her to stay her course. The point is her plan was linked to her own sense of moral obligation and her need to fulfill her individual purpose. I would say that that could be associated with the trine to retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius.

Okay, so how does this help us? Be like Leelo…or not. This new moon is a time to align our actions with our ideals. Like Leelo, there may be those who have their own suggestions for how we should implement these ideas into our live but it is ultimately up to us to get, move, and make it happen. Sudden barriers could pop up, especially seeing as how we are going to have three retrograde planets (Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn) before the full moon comes but trusting in that plan and our ability to make progress even when “moving slow” is essential.

Focus on individual plans this new moon. Be assertive but don’t be a dick. Start something new for you. It will benefit others in someway but that should not be your main reason for doing so in this new moon. The house and personal planets the new moon touches in your Natal chart will give you a very good idea of the details.

Dream Big & Soldier On- Pisces New Moon 3/2016

We have a new moon coming at us today in Pisces. It already feels like a magical time but when a solar eclipse is added in, some folks may feel like the stakes are ramped up. Here’s the chart for new moon tonight at 8:54ET.

Of course, this is a time to set new intentions. Piscean type goals would be a good look for this lunar cycle- spiritual service, compassion, creative endeavors, forgiveness and tie cutting work, etc. Depending on the house this new moon occupies in your chart it, could mean different things for you than for me or anyone else. This new moon happens in my second house so this could be a great time to ask for forgiveness from me if you owe me money (no guarantees at all).

In general, the mutable water energy of Pisces reminds us to dream big and reconnect. Mutable signs clear out what could go stagnant due to the fixed signs that come before them. Stuffy emotional energy is cleated our with Pisces. When the ties that have grown heavy keep us from moving forward, Pisces clears it up.13c1c5fd6fe3158a42579c1cb4b4185b By practicing compassion and faith, we are able to slough off the emotional cobwebs that can hinder us from looking at what could be instead of what already is. That’s the beauty of Pisces. By having us accept things and people as they are we can move into space that opens us to source and dreams beyond imagination.

This new moon is opposed by Jupiter in Virgo so a word of caution is necessary. Don’t go overboard with rose colored glasses in order to move forward. Use the square of Saturn in Sagittarius,which others may see as a hard aspect to deal with but I see it as useful for this setup, to keep your feet grounded as you dream. Jupiter typically likes to go overboard but with it being in Virgo that tendency could be limited in most areas except for nervous tension and worries. I think it should be noted that this new moon happens in Pisces but touches on planet in sign combos that push for a melding of big ideas with realistic planning. If you don’t really want it to happen, don’t start it now. Be as sure as you can. Stay open to possibilities but get as clear as you can to start.

Here We Go Again and Again and Again: January 2016 Mercury Retrograde

Yes, it’s time to double check your communication. It’s time to measure four times before cutting once. It’s time to reevaluate, reassess, rethink, and review. Yes folks, it is MERCURY RETROGRADE TIME!

The planet of communication went reverse in Aquarius this morning, January 5th, and will eventually move back into the sign of Capricorn before turning direct again on the 25th. Aquarius is fixed air so focus on reviewing things dealing with expansion of abstract ideas first. Social justice, social groups and movements, television, and more. Messages and ideas surrounding these things may get misconstrued so take your time. Especially with Mercury making a hard aspect to Mars in Scorpio. The ego and belief in conspiracy is a bit higher.

Once Mercury slides back into Capricorn, rethink ideas centered around cardinal earth. Long term plans for financial/material/earthly growth is a good place to start. Also, authority figures may want to take extra time in crafting their message before sending it out into the world. The aspects that this retrograde Mercury form warrant some looking into for sure.

Mercury and Uranus squaring each other during this retrograde could indicate some real moments of  cross purpose in which we question how we move forward into who we want to be while finding a place in larger groups. Group think versus the lone wolf mentality. On the practical side, double checking our social media passwords and accounts against sudden attack should be on the list. Save everything and back it up. I have a personal hunch that somebody’s stuff is going to get leaked during this time but I’m not a psychic so we’ll see.

The cosmic connection with a retrograde Jupiter in Virgo is also there  begging us to take our time in practical matters. Faith is great but learning how to root it is necessary. At the same time Mercury will be in between the Sun and Pluto in Capricorn so please think before you speak. Your reputation could depend on it. Pluto will tear shit up and what you thought of yourself and how you show your light to others is no exception. Be careful with long range plans, especially concerning home improvements that deal with the actual structure/framework of your home. It may seem like a good idea but you could be missing some important details.

Remember, Mercury Retrograde is a completely doable and livable time. Don’t stop living but don’t rush either. Take your time.You’ll get thru this just like everyone before it.

Gemini Full Moon 11/2015-The Power of Stories

Words have meaning and stories are spells. Be careful of the ones you weave this upcoming full moon.

On November 25th at 5:44pm ET the full moon will be exact at 3° Gemini. The midway point of the Scorpio new moon cycle has a set up that I believe asks us to be really think about the information we take in and what needs to be tossed out. Gemini is a mutable air sign. Mutable modality shakes up and clears out the foundations that the fixed modality has shored up and built legacies upon. Air signs deal in the realm of communication and thought. Basically when you mix mutable and air you get thoughts and ideas that shake up and clear out our old ways of thinking. Gemini is that breathe of fresh air. Gemini sees old information in a new way because it weaves new stories with old information.

However, with this being a full moon that forms a tight opposition with the Sun, Mercury, and Saturn, we should be especially careful with how we choose to tell these new stories to others and ourselves. A square to Neptune brings this into tighter focus (lol). There is a goal and conscious thought to find truth imparted by the Sun and Mercury in Sagittarius. It seems like we are having a great time doing it as well. But Saturn in Sagittarius is calling into question what we believed to be truth in the first place. And unfortunately, moon in Gemini is not afraid to lie to fill in the gaps while Saturn in Sagittarius is perfectly fine with shouting you down if they are expressed negatively. The square of Neptune in Pisces to it all could have some lost in the sauce and feeling like a cosmic victim because of the story their emotions told them.

 

There’s a better way. A more balanced way. The search for truth can be balanced with an emotional knowing of how to frame it. Sagittarius sun looks for the big thread of truth that connects us all as Gemini moon fills the fine details of truth with an understanding that it is colored by our personal stories. Tell your tale and listen to the tales of others. Look for the common thread but don’t get bogged down trying to do so. Pay attention to the words you use when you talk to yourself and others.

 

Ask yourself these questions

~Do you speak with assurance and openness or with haughtiness and superficially?

~Are you telling the truth to yourself or hiding behind the same old stories?

~Are you getting all the information before coming to a conclusion or are you just relying in dogma to decide?

full-moon-in-geminiThe rest of the this lunar cycle is about examining how we communicate with others but especially ourselves. Be ready to let go of unhealthy ways in which you speak to yourself and others. This is also a good time to learn detachment from other’s stories. Their outcomes and beliefs are their own and being so emotionally wrapped up in them we begin to take them on as our own to the detriment of our own truths. Travel is good idea with this full moon, whether near (Gemini) or far (Sagittarius). Either way, talking and general merry making should be on the agenda.

 

Of course all of this means just a small hill of beans compared to how these configurations actually line up with your personal planets in your birth chart. Definitely take the time to see which how the full moon is occurring in so you can think about what area of life you might want to readjust the story that you assign to it. Scorpio New Moon 11/2015- So close it hurts but pain can be pleasure

New moon is coming on 11/11 ooooooohhhh

Yes folks we have a new moon waiting to signal the beginning of a new cycle around 12:45pm ET on November 11th. The celestial  meet and greet takes place in the heavy sign of Scorpio. Scorpio often gets a bad rap but it really is a necessary sign. Astrologers love to play up the transformative angle of Scorpio while dabblers love to play up the possessive part of the scorpio. They are both right though. Scorpio is a fixed sign so it looks to build upon what it already has at its’ disposal. That means that all of the nasty, muck ridden, shadow lit things that it has, Scorpio is willing to see if it serves a purpose. If it doesn’t the urgency with which a planet moving thru Scorpio toses is as about as legendary as the strength it holds on with.

With the sun and moon meeting in Scorpio, we can look to Scorpio themed things for this current cycle- sex, death, rebirth, shadow sides, taxes, shared resources, and intimacy. I feel like the last one needs to be repeated-INTIMACY. Oftentimes, sex gets overplayed as the domain of Scorpio when it is really about intimacy. The joining of two in space that is vulnerable, emotionally wrought, yet undeniably  satisfying. That is where the Scorpio magic happens.

This new moon in Scorpio certainly looks to be pointing to that piece of Scorpio this go round. The uncomfortable desire to get intimate in a way that bares us is coming. Chiron in Pisces forms a trine with the new moon so old wounds may flare in a way that only deep and honest conversation with close loved ones can heal if we access the conjunction of Mercury in Scorpio. Obsessing over how to get the upper hand and how to make the most out of the situation defeats the purpose of getting close so allow things to unfold as they will. Jupiter in Virgo trines this new moon so a desire to get ducks in a row to feel better may rise but don’t forget to trust the process. Balance the desire for practical results with intuitive knowing. We want to connect deeply and the levels of our being are steering us in ways to do so that may not make sense consciously. They may hurt or seem like emotional suicide. Do it anyway. Scorpio sun makes treasure out of trash constantly and Scorpio moon knows how to breakthrough those layers of hard rock to get to some gems.

There is a Steven Universe connection here to transformation, intimacy, fusion and Scorpio that I won’t go into right now but I will leave you with this awesome Garnet pic I found because if this isn’t a fabulous example of it, I can’t help you understand anything.images

As always, I suggest that Scorpio season is the time to look  at your tax situation whatever it may be and get prepared. Digging up missing resources is a use of Scorpio energy and waiting for the tax man to hit you is often a bad idea. Strike fast and prepared and smoothly so Uncle Sam gets only the bare minimum of what he is owed. Looking at will and estate paperwork is a good idea as well because the only other thing we can’t avoid forever besides taxes is death.

Overall, I suggest we all prepare to get uncomfortable and have some folks we can trust deeply around us to mirror what we need to grow. Scorpio transforms self but it does so thru experiences and emotional connections it makes outside of its self. Be firm. Be loving. Be vulnerable. How this new moon will affect you specifically all depends on your natal chart. Check to see what planets you have in Scorpio as well as which house it rules for clues as to where you should focus you energy on intimate, transformative connections.
