Mars soldiers on

It’s been awhile since I posted anything here. I’ve just been taking a break, planning personal stuff and more. Of course the planets and stars keep on trucking in the mean time. Here’s a quick thought about Mars moving from Scorpio to Sagittarius on August 2nd

Folks are eeking out their last little bits of ego centered savagery due to Mars sitting in the 29th degree of Scorpio. Don’t think the verbal fireworks will be over once Mars moves into Sagittarius though. That’s laughable. Sagittarius loves to talk. Sagittarius also loves its self. Just not in as a covert and manipulative way as an unrefined Scorpio Mars. While Scorpio Mars lays in wait for a bit; Sag Mars will blow its top relatively quickly and then act as if nothing. Mars in Sag needs to take physical action to dispel that mental or emotional discomfort and while talking(typing) is mental, it is also a physical act. Be ready

Capricorn Full Moon July 2015

I’ll keep this relatively short and sweet
cap
Full moon (peak of short-term plans and emotional fulfillment) tonight in Capricorn (sign of cardinal earth- enterprising, respect driven, authoritative) at 10:20. Sun (consciousness and hero self) is opposite it in Cancer (sign of cardinal water- nurturing, domestic, emotionally driven) of course. The Moon forms a conjunction with retrograde Pluto (body of unearthing and rending for transformation) in Capricorn. Mars (body of ego and survival) sits near the Sun in Cancer.

  • Do you continue to search for what emotionally gives you comfort or do you move towards what give you fulfillment on a practical level?
  • How do you find balance between your traditional roles and new relationships that challenge you?
  • Is the draw of changing public roles and fame more important than your drive to set down roots at home?

It’s a battle of the traditional mother and father. Who will win? The child who loves and opens themselves to the best of both figures

Mars in Pisces 1/2015

Mars moved from the airy sign of Aquarius to the whirlpool that is Pisces on 1/12/2015. All of that “get up and go” didn’t just up and leave but it is probably looking for some direction. The planet Mars signifies our self assertion, our ego (in the most personal way), our drive, and our sexual energy among a few other things. Named after the God of war, it doesn’t seem like Mars could get much traction in the dreamy sign that is Pisces. Don’t take this to mean that nothing happens; it just means that there is a scattered approach to the fight.

Why? Because Pisces is mutable water. It is flexible and interested in bridging two distinct worlds, the seen and unseen. Pisces puts an emotional spin on every planet that inhabits its realm but this emotion resides in the principle of compassion. That warrior energy will be filtered thru that lens now; so while we still want what we want, we are a little less likely to be outwardly cutthroat about it. That also means that some mild escapism and passive aggression could take place. It is the shadow side of compassion. The desire to not harm others sometimes shows up in avoiding conflict in a myriad of ways.

This is a good time to figure out HOW you fight. Is it fair? Is it inline with your core values? Is there a way for all parties to walk away with what they want? Mars goes out to get what it wants. It works in a way that is opposite to Venus, which uses attraction. To make the best use of Mars in Aries, we have to focus on aligning our drive and self assertion to what Pisces wants. This means seeking out opportunities to love up on humanity. Go deep into our personal dreamworlds to find the things that make our hearts sing. Seek out art that touches your soul and make some new art for yourself and others. Search for healthy escapes from the drudges of everyday life. Bravely connect with the Divine; ask questions but don’t get caught up on concrete answers.

Big bad Aries will be here until 2/19/2015 so we have time to go out and make the world a bit more beautiful, a bit more dreamy, a bit more compassionate. Besides Pisces may not always know exactly how things will happen but when you combine it’s enormous capacity for faith in the unknown with Mars, the impossible is nothing more than a word and a challenge.

Let’s Get To Work! Mars Enters Virgo

On October 15 2013, Mars moved from vivacious Leo into methodical Virgo. Maybe you felt the change. Maybe you felt the change from a desire to live like there’s no tomorrow to a desire to slow down and assess what is going on in your life. You’re not getting older (well, yes you actually are but you know what I mean). This was the change of Mars from Leo to Virgo. Mars moved from a sign that it is very comfortable in to a sign where the fit is a little more snug and restricting.

Mars represents our desire, our drive, our ego. It is the part of us that makes the moves happen in order for us to create and procreate. Just as the planet is a fiery ball of cosmic material, so is the energy that is represents in us. With its’ movement into the mutable Earth sign of Virgo, that excitement and vigor is reigned in. The earth element of Virgo gives a firm structure to the energy of Mars so that we feel much less scattered and much more focused in our movement and plans.

Virgo gives Mars the energy to be a very methodical and practical soldier.  Mars becomes the combat medic that is more than capable of assessing a messy situation and assigning the necessary order of importance to fix what is wrong when in this sign. Mars in Virgo is exacting and precise in movement, not just physically but in the execution of short and long term plans. This placement is all about measuring twice and cutting once, maybe even measuring three or four or five times before moving forward.

This perfectionist nature is at odds with Mars. This planetary energy wants to burst forth with vigor and force, while Virgo requires that it slow down and take special care to no not make a mistake. During this transit, we could find ourselves becoming a nag when we are being impeded. We also may find it hard to get started on projects because get so caught up in all of the ways it could go wrong while we are in the planning phase that we don’t move beyond it. The devil really is in the details for Mars in Virgo and if we are not careful, we could find our frustration and nervous energy rising when we can’t get them just right.

This transit is a good time to iron out details and get to work on any details or small parts of our plans that we may have overlooked. Our desire to move beyond our ego to help others is enhanced by this placement, especially with the sun in Libra until the 22nd. Day to day management of work issues should be a little easier to focus on now, as well as devising a plan to get any neglected parts of our health in order. The 18th and 19th of October may have us a little disoriented about how to move forward due to an opposition with Neptune. Mars will trine Pluto in Capricorn on the 31st and most likely, external issues will arise that give us the opportunity to execute our plan of action for maximum effect. Hopefully all the planning and hard work behind the scene will find the way cleared just a bit for a nice move forward.
