Mars moved from the airy sign of Aquarius to the whirlpool that is Pisces on 1/12/2015. All of that “get up and go” didn’t just up and leave but it is probably looking for some direction. The planet Mars signifies our self assertion, our ego (in the most personal way), our drive, and our sexual energy among a few other things. Named after the God of war, it doesn’t seem like Mars could get much traction in the dreamy sign that is Pisces. Don’t take this to mean that nothing happens; it just means that there is a scattered approach to the fight.
Why? Because Pisces is mutable water. It is flexible and interested in bridging two distinct worlds, the seen and unseen. Pisces puts an emotional spin on every planet that inhabits its realm but this emotion resides in the principle of compassion. That warrior energy will be filtered thru that lens now; so while we still want what we want, we are a little less likely to be outwardly cutthroat about it. That also means that some mild escapism and passive aggression could take place. It is the shadow side of compassion. The desire to not harm others sometimes shows up in avoiding conflict in a myriad of ways.
This is a good time to figure out HOW you fight. Is it fair? Is it inline with your core values? Is there a way for all parties to walk away with what they want? Mars goes out to get what it wants. It works in a way that is opposite to Venus, which uses attraction. To make the best use of Mars in Aries, we have to focus on aligning our drive and self assertion to what Pisces wants. This means seeking out opportunities to love up on humanity. Go deep into our personal dreamworlds to find the things that make our hearts sing. Seek out art that touches your soul and make some new art for yourself and others. Search for healthy escapes from the drudges of everyday life. Bravely connect with the Divine; ask questions but don’t get caught up on concrete answers.
Big bad Aries will be here until 2/19/2015 so we have time to go out and make the world a bit more beautiful, a bit more dreamy, a bit more compassionate. Besides Pisces may not always know exactly how things will happen but when you combine it’s enormous capacity for faith in the unknown with Mars, the impossible is nothing more than a word and a challenge.
