Personal Thoughts on Retrograde Jupiter- 2/2016

As we see the sun moving thru the beginnings of another mutable sign, we are still dealing with an expansive giant stumbling backwards thru a sign that restricts it and redirects all of that robustness. Jupiter loves to go wild and big and bet the house. It works thru a mode of Faith that is rooted in the unknown and knows it will eventually reach. In the sign of Virgo, it already had to uncomfortably readjust to being focused inward. To looking at the smaller details and piecing together what we already know.

Now that the king of the Gods is moving backwards, we are having to turn even more inwards to settle into that faith. We have this idea that faith automatically brings peace but that is not the case. Jupiter starts the journey to find it. With this particular retrograde planet, looking and plumbing our own depths can bring about the means for a wonderful journey from faith into peace. Virgo makes sure that we are willing to do the work if we are ready. Perfecting ourselves as we travel the road and having the good fortune to remember how great we are in the here and now is a gift we get from this current set up.

PSA: No, You Are Not An Aries/Taurus/Gemini/etc.

Astrological zodiac signs ARE NOT people.

There are no Gemini’s. There are some people with their sun in Gemini however. There are no Pisces’s. There are people who have some (never all) planets and/or points that are colored by Piscean energy.

Let astrology open you up to the multifaceted you. Not a diminished caricature or incomplete picture. Astrology has focused on more than just the zodiac signs for centuries across most civilizations. Don’t sell it or yourself short by reducing who you are to just your sun sign.

God Is In The Detail/Hello Virgo

The phrase “God is in the detail” is a old saying that asks us to be careful and thorough in execution because details matter. If a Virgo-3-Virgo sun didn’t think of this then someone with heavy Virgo energy must have figured this out. Unlike Capricorn which deals in practical advancement (cardinal earth) and Taurus which deals with practical sustainment (fixed earth), Virgo engages in practical refinement (mutable earth).

Virgo season is upon us. Here is a run down of the current planetary postions

  • Sun- 0 degrees Virgo
  • Moon – 15 degrees Sagittarius
  • Mercury- 25 degrees Virgo
  • Venus- 17 degrees Leo (retrograde)
  • Mars- 9 degrees Leo
  • Jupiter- 2 degrees Virgo
  • Saturn- 28 degrees Scorpio
  • Uranus- 20 degrees Aries (retrograde)
  • Neptune- 8 degrees Pisces (retrograde)
  • Pluto- 13 degrees Capricorn (retrograde)

The way information is processed on a larger scale is colored by Virgo energy so precision is a necessity, however a certain amount of grace is allotted in our relationships due to Venus moving backwards thru Leo. The sun is moving away from a square aspect to Saturn and moving closer to an exact conjunct aspect with Jupiter. At large, we are feeling our ability to be optimistic grow. Looking at the small pieces may not make us so frustrated and emotionally heavy anymore. Faith goes a long way in giving us the energy and push we need to do another double check.

Virgo energy is not for the faint of heart. It begins a process of refinement that requires precision and stamina to endure. After the party and the pomp and circumstance of Leo exits stage left someone needs to be there to clean the mess, mend the curtains,virgo_knight___at_with_stolvezen_by_dameodessa-d6w24bz and freshen up. We all should take steps to ensure that  the virgin’s energy does not get out of hand. It is one thing to try and fine tune things but we need to remember that perfection is unattainable. Nervous energy needs an outlet and redirecting Virgo’s energy away from that quest for perfection is sometimes needed. The house that Virgo rules can let you know about the area of your life that could benefit from more scrutiny and detail work. Enact a bit of “get right” and let the virgin work their magic in your life.

**Interestingly, the “proverb” is most often attributed to two men whom both have Mars in Virgo although no one knows the exact source**

Pisces Full Moon- September 2014

Atpisces1 9:38pm ET this evening, we will have our last super moon of the year. It is a full moon in Pisces opposite the sun in Virgo at 16°. This involves what many call the axis of service; Virgo deals largely with practical service in the mundane world and Pisces concerns itself largely with imaginative service in the spiritual realm. The opposition of these two energies should be our main focus with this full moon.

Our focus on the things we do everyday to survive in the modern world (sun in Virgo) should not completely supersede the emotional need to imagine and compassionately connect with a higher power (moon in Pisces). The balance of both is necessary and the full moon is a reminder to look back over where we came from to see where we can balance them a bit more. This can be a bit of a heartbreaking task. Noticing where we fell short is hard; even more so when we are moving from a Virgo centered perspective.

Chiron makes a tight conjunction with the moon tonight so old wounds may feel fresh. The pressure to martyr ourselves, to make up for past real or imagined transgressions, may bubble up as well. Allow yourself to feel it, find a comforting friend to listen (it may be easier since mercury moved into Libra- listening and considering others is a mainstay of this combo), and let it go.

“You may say that I’m a dreamer/ but I’m not the only one” Pisces energy understands connection to humanity through the unseen and unknown.

Pisces is excellent at reminding us that we find God/Goddess in the people we meet and connect with everyday. Moon in Pisces nudges us to imagine compassionate ways to interact with humanity. Building bridges on rocky shores is a kind of superpower that the fishes have.

Refine your everyday living with all of the preciseness of Virgo. Assisting others in practical ways is not always Pisces’ first mind for compassionate service but it can do a world of good as well. Giving to others in such a way allows for a free flowing of love that nurtures body, mind, and spirit.
