New moon coming in less than 2 hours. It will start in Aquarius and transition into Pisces. Of course that means that Pisces sun season will be starting as well. Have you felt the excitement building?
This is a unique chance to set some Aquarian type goals and merge them with Piscean type ones as well. Set goals to use resources that you have to strengthen your connection with groups and work on compassionate interactions with all. Saturn forms an angle with the sun and moon so be prepared to do some hard work for long term results. Saturn in Sagittarius will help in the tough work of looking for the thread of truth in the big picture while we move from initial emotional detachment to a deeper sense of connectedness.
Being connected is great and necessary but to me this feels like a reminder to be you and to give others the space to be their own unique selves. The sun in Aquarius helps us to break down personal and societal barriers that infringe on our right to march to the beat of our own drums. With the moon meeting it there again in the 29°, we get another chance to cement that right for ourselves and others.
As the sun and moon both move into Pisces, we are given an extra boost to wash away the ought to’s and should be’s of outside expectations. We are given a chance to allow illusions of barriers to melt away.
Celebrate what works for you. Celebrate what works for others. Remember that thousands of different types of cells still make up one body and that is the beauty of being human.
The house that will hold this new moon can give you insight into where you should look long and deep for your own uniqueness AND connectedness to the bigger whole. If you are not sure, drop me a line to schedule a consultation so I can help.
Stay breezy folks
Mars moved from the airy sign of Aquarius to the whirlpool that is Pisces on 1/12/2015. All of that “get up and go” didn’t just up and leave but it is probably looking for some direction. The planet Mars signifies our self assertion, our ego (in the most personal way), our drive, and our sexual energy among a few other things. Named after the God of war, it doesn’t seem like Mars could get much traction in the dreamy sign that is Pisces. Don’t take this to mean that nothing happens; it just means that there is a scattered approach to the fight.
Why? Because Pisces is mutable water. It is flexible and interested in bridging two distinct worlds, the seen and unseen. Pisces puts an emotional spin on every planet that inhabits its realm but this emotion resides in the principle of compassion. That warrior energy will be filtered thru that lens now; so while we still want what we want, we are a little less likely to be outwardly cutthroat about it. That also means that some mild escapism and passive aggression could take place. It is the shadow side of compassion. The desire to not harm others sometimes shows up in avoiding conflict in a myriad of ways.
This is a good time to figure out HOW you fight. Is it fair? Is it inline with your core values? Is there a way for all parties to walk away with what they want? Mars goes out to get what it wants. It works in a way that is opposite to Venus, which uses attraction. To make the best use of Mars in Aries, we have to focus on aligning our drive and self assertion to what Pisces wants. This means seeking out opportunities to love up on humanity. Go deep into our personal dreamworlds to find the things that make our hearts sing. Seek out art that touches your soul and make some new art for yourself and others. Search for healthy escapes from the drudges of everyday life. Bravely connect with the Divine; ask questions but don’t get caught up on concrete answers.
Big bad Aries will be here until 2/19/2015 so we have time to go out and make the world a bit more beautiful, a bit more dreamy, a bit more compassionate. Besides Pisces may not always know exactly how things will happen but when you combine it’s enormous capacity for faith in the unknown with Mars, the impossible is nothing more than a word and a challenge.
At 9:38pm ET this evening, we will have our last super moon of the year. It is a full moon in Pisces opposite the sun in Virgo at 16°. This involves what many call the axis of service; Virgo deals largely with practical service in the mundane world and Pisces concerns itself largely with imaginative service in the spiritual realm. The opposition of these two energies should be our main focus with this full moon.
Our focus on the things we do everyday to survive in the modern world (sun in Virgo) should not completely supersede the emotional need to imagine and compassionately connect with a higher power (moon in Pisces). The balance of both is necessary and the full moon is a reminder to look back over where we came from to see where we can balance them a bit more. This can be a bit of a heartbreaking task. Noticing where we fell short is hard; even more so when we are moving from a Virgo centered perspective.
Chiron makes a tight conjunction with the moon tonight so old wounds may feel fresh. The pressure to martyr ourselves, to make up for past real or imagined transgressions, may bubble up as well. Allow yourself to feel it, find a comforting friend to listen (it may be easier since mercury moved into Libra- listening and considering others is a mainstay of this combo), and let it go.
“You may say that I’m a dreamer/ but I’m not the only one” Pisces energy understands connection to humanity through the unseen and unknown.
Pisces is excellent at reminding us that we find God/Goddess in the people we meet and connect with everyday. Moon in Pisces nudges us to imagine compassionate ways to interact with humanity. Building bridges on rocky shores is a kind of superpower that the fishes have.
Refine your everyday living with all of the preciseness of Virgo. Assisting others in practical ways is not always Pisces’ first mind for compassionate service but it can do a world of good as well. Giving to others in such a way allows for a free flowing of love that nurtures body, mind, and spirit.
