Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse 10/2014

There is a blood moon ahead *cue spooky music*

image

A full moon and lunar eclipse will take place at 6:49am Eastern Time. The sun will be at 15° Libra and the moon will be at its fullest opposite it. Full moons signal a push for completion and fulfillment of goals that we started at the beginning of the lunar cycle. Toss in a lunar eclipse and the need to reach completion and release is heightened.

The emotional need to assert our individual self is ripe. Aries houses both the moon and Uranus so moments can happen that beg us to burst forth in emotionally erratic and eccentric ways. Opposite the sun in Libra, we could walk a tightrope between me and we that seems a bit shakier than usual.

The moon’s nodes are involved in this full moon and eclipse. The Nodes are mathematical points where the orbit of the moon intersect the ecliptic. In simple terms, it is where the moon crosses the sun’s path. This moon will sit tightly with the south node, the instinctual things that come natural. The sun sits tightly with the north node, the new things we yearn to cultivate. Use this info and your knowledge of the Aries/Libra axis as you will. (I would suggest that while you strive to “be yourself”, you push to do so in relationships that fulfill you and stretch you to define more than just your differences)

All in all, this full moon and eclipse could bring a lot of relationship issues to the forefront. Even the relationship we have with ourselves. Howl if you need to but maybe you should cry out with (and to) a good friend.

Venus in Aries- May 2014

Venus moved into Aries on May 3rd of 2014 and I don’t think that most folks felt it. They didn’t consciously understand the shifting of “us” centered values to “I” centered values due to Mars currently moving in a retrograde motion through Libra. That still doesn’t mean that it didn’t shift. Thoughts of what makes us feel loved are simmering below the surface; slowly bubbling up to get our undivided attention. Aries does not care for playing second fiddle so when Venus moves through it we all focus on ourselves a bit more. There is nothing wrong with this. We need to check in on ourselves occasionally to make sure that we are being filled, appreciated, and valued in all of our relationships. Venus in Aries makes sure that we do so and don’t necessarily apologize for it.

We are focused on attracting things that makes us feel unique with this placement. Relationships, situations, and people that value our individuality and ability to strike out into newness are what our hearts yearn for. Inject some spontaneity into your current relationship or try a new place to find a date. Love is passionate under this placement but also self centered. When Venus meets up with Uranus in Aries expect some insights into your current relationships that could expand on where you need to readjust the “I/US” balance and allow you to figure out some missing hidden piece of yourself that has been neglected in your relationships. We value boldness, brashness, and a can do attitude right now. Enjoy it.

New Moon in Aries- March 2014

The new moon is coming up and it’s a doozy folks. If you have hung around the page long enough you know that new moons start each lunar month and that it is a prime time to set intentions and start short term plans and goals. This new moon is happening in Aries where it will also conjunct Uranus and square Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Cancer.

Aries Moon-by D.Eskridge

What does all of that goobley gook mean? Be prepared for your life, your outlook, your environment to change. Emotions will be running high as they always are when the moon moves into Aries. There is a certain amount volatility and losing ourselves to the emotions of the moment that happens at this time. Sometimes it is bravery. Sometimes it is foolishness. Either way, we tend to cross into unplanned territory. When this is combined with the seemingly erratic nature of Uranus ,we get a recipe for spiritual insights and inspirations to shake the very foundation of who we are on an individual level. Aries is all about the single cell, the ego, the unique individual and since our emotions become more in tune with this during the moon’s transit, Uranus will give real insight into who we are and how we yearn to break free. Uranus shocks and Aries is more than capable of being the lone wolf operative that is willing to do so.

The moon and sun will also be in a tense aspect with Pluto and Jupiter. The heavenly bodies of destruction and expansion will be at odds with the yin and yang cores of us. Pluto in Capricorn wants to tear down old traditional power structures. With this setup it will seem to be very hard for us to let go in a way that is quiet or gracious. We may rail and scream but we need to lean into it in the most seamless way that we can. (Since Mars, the ruling planet of Aries is currently retrograde, we may be less inclined to fight for as long as we would). Jupiter in Cancer is also tensly aspecting the new moon. Our desire to connect and expand on our roots and traditions is heavy with this placement and at odds with so many other configurations happening currently. This square might entice us to expand our foothold, especially on an emotional level before we are able to fully disconnect from what no longer serves us.

This new moon wants us to get ready. As much as we want to rush forward, our best bet is to rush inward. Use the insights that we garner during this time to do some serious emotional and spiritual cleaning. The universe seems to be conspiring to help us do so real inner work. Use the courage that is a huge part of Aries to not stop and get the work done. Think twice before you speak. Be kinder to others because we are all feeling overrun and on edge.

Moon in Aries

When some one is born with their moon in Aries, we can expect to see someone who is a fiery ball of emotions. The moon is astrology indicates our emotional nature, our need for security, and to some degree our childhood experiences and eating habits. So when the moon is in Aries when someone is born, we can expect someone that is more likely to act on their emotions than talk or think about them for too long. Aries is all about action, quick and swift. It’s a cardinal sign so the person with their moon in Aries will get caught up on the first feeling  and often run with it until they are out of steam, unless they make a concentrated effort to slow down. In order to feel safe and emotionally fulfilled they need to have the ability to be autonomous. Even in relationships, they will need to feel like they are their own seprarate entity. Smothering will have them running for the hills. Moon in Aries instills a volatile emotional nature but it doesn’t usually last long. They will take swift action but will move on to the next emotion just as quick as the picked up on the last one.

Aries Stays the Same

When the sun moves into Aries, regardless of the hemisphere, change from the current state of affairs is ushered in. In the southern hemisphere, the change is from the blazing heat of summer to the cooler temperatures of fall. It signals a shift from the high energy, solar-powered frenzy of the spring and summer to a slower paced way of living. Many would say that there is no way to reconcile the differences between the Northern hemisphere and the Southern hemisphere ideals of Aries but it really is not that hard.

When the sun moves into the Cardinal Fire sign, it always signals the embodiment of an enterprising spirit. Aries as a sign is like a young man venturing out on his own for the first time. It reminds us of what it was like to start the journey of making our own way in the word. As far as linking it with the seasons of the Southern hemisphere, how much bravery and boldness would we need to start this journey when the world around us prepares to sleep? A lot and Aries has it in spades. Aries starts the journey when most of the world has finally settled into a groove. Aries wants to see what else is out there and push the boundaries because that is the most natural way for the ego to develop. “I don’t want to be like you so I’m going to change-up the game and do something different” is something that a heavily influenced Aries person would say. How else could the march into a completely different season and natural landscape start?

When the sun moves into Aries, we are all able to search out and let the unique qualities in us shine. We are able to call upon our inner leader to help us take charge of our lives, our personas and our image. No more hemming and hawing about it; the sun in Aries spurs us to move on it. Action is what this energy is after and it will find it by looking for the newest, freshest thing/idea/expression it can find. Ushering in fall is Aries discovering something new after the long hot summer. Instead of the bright, moisture starved colors of summer, Aries decides to shake things up by bringing in a stillness and coolness that no one expected. That is such an Aries thing to do.
