Mars in Pisces 1/2015

Mars moved from the airy sign of Aquarius to the whirlpool that is Pisces on 1/12/2015. All of that “get up and go” didn’t just up and leave but it is probably looking for some direction. The planet Mars signifies our self assertion, our ego (in the most personal way), our drive, and our sexual energy among a few other things. Named after the God of war, it doesn’t seem like Mars could get much traction in the dreamy sign that is Pisces. Don’t take this to mean that nothing happens; it just means that there is a scattered approach to the fight.

Why? Because Pisces is mutable water. It is flexible and interested in bridging two distinct worlds, the seen and unseen. Pisces puts an emotional spin on every planet that inhabits its realm but this emotion resides in the principle of compassion. That warrior energy will be filtered thru that lens now; so while we still want what we want, we are a little less likely to be outwardly cutthroat about it. That also means that some mild escapism and passive aggression could take place. It is the shadow side of compassion. The desire to not harm others sometimes shows up in avoiding conflict in a myriad of ways.

This is a good time to figure out HOW you fight. Is it fair? Is it inline with your core values? Is there a way for all parties to walk away with what they want? Mars goes out to get what it wants. It works in a way that is opposite to Venus, which uses attraction. To make the best use of Mars in Aries, we have to focus on aligning our drive and self assertion to what Pisces wants. This means seeking out opportunities to love up on humanity. Go deep into our personal dreamworlds to find the things that make our hearts sing. Seek out art that touches your soul and make some new art for yourself and others. Search for healthy escapes from the drudges of everyday life. Bravely connect with the Divine; ask questions but don’t get caught up on concrete answers.

Big bad Aries will be here until 2/19/2015 so we have time to go out and make the world a bit more beautiful, a bit more dreamy, a bit more compassionate. Besides Pisces may not always know exactly how things will happen but when you combine it’s enormous capacity for faith in the unknown with Mars, the impossible is nothing more than a word and a challenge.

Full of emotion

Tonights first full moon of 2015 occurs in the sign of Cancer. It is opposite the sun in Capricorn and forms a square to both the North Node in Libra and Uranus in Aries. Lots of cardinal signs involved but there may not be a lot of movement.

Why? Well Cancer is an sign that can impart heavy emotional weight to whatever planet it holds. The moon signifies our emotional nature. Lots of feelings have most likely been swelling for the last day or two and we are looking for a way to release them. Unfortunately, they don’t always come in an orderly fashion.

Which leads to the squaring of Uranus and the moon. Our subconscious need to be emotionally driven is having a difficult time being reconciled with what may come as an unexpected need to assert our individual self. Uranus in Aries gives sudden insight to our own selves as a single unit. This is great but it may not lend its self to a healthy manner in dealing with our emotional turbulence.

The sun in Capricorn focuses our attention onto being responsible and taking measurable steps. This is in opposition to the moon in Cancer needing to feel our way through. Practical and emotional don’t mix easily for most so tensions could rise internally.

The north node in Libra urges us to connect to others to further our purpose but that straight line is being intercepted by the moon in Cancer’s need to emotionally protect self first.

These are not simple configurations but they are livable. Allowing the flow of emotions to come is great. Taking practical steps to act on them is a good next step. Connecting to others in a way that allows for emotional growth of one’s self is another.

Cardinal signs inspire us to do, to move. Remember that small measured steps is still movement.

12/21/2014- Winter Solstice and Capricorn’s focus

The Winter Solstice is happening today and a lot is going down. The Sun moves into Capricorn, the last new moon of the year occurs and Uranus goes station direct today.

At 6:17pm ET, the sun moves into the sign of Capricorn. We, in the northern hemisphere will experience the longest span of night for the year. Capricornwpid-images.png themes include perseverance and long term planning. How else could you survive the longest night and the harsh of winter that is coming if you don’t plan ahead? Personally, we should all be looking to plant seeds for long term gain right now. Sagittarius teaches us to celebrate in the here and now but Capricorn assures us that it will continually shift and we should be prepared for it.

A cardinal sign, Capricorn is not afraid to move forward but does it with slow yet even sure footedness that turns an acorn into a towering tree in the years to come. Being rooted in earth, Capricorn colors our thoughts with what we need in the material plane right now to sustain ourselves through harsh times. Are you willing or even prepared to tough it out in order to see your wants manifested in 3D?

All of these questions should be asked before we set our intentions for the new moon happening around 8pm ET today. The things we intend to complete this moon cycle should be ones that add bricks to the foundation of our long term goals. Rememberwpid-images-35.jpg.jpeg, Capricorn does produce results but they are often seen only in their full glory down the road a bit. Look to your birth chart to see which house or section of life the new moon occurs in to get an idea of where you should be taking steps to move along your long term goals this moon cycle.

Uranus also goes station direct in Aries today after months of retrograde movement. Everywhere we have seen sparks of revolution setting fire on personal and national levels. The retrograde motion of Uranus didn’t stifle the inspiration but made it much more personal and clouded by personal agendas. As it prepares to move forward, expect new leaders to continue to step forward for fights in personal and human rights. Also lone wolves with manifestos and explosive personalities will continue to rise. A redefining of self and what one person can do will continue to occur. Use this time to continue to be inspired on your personal journey and to inspire others. Not with grand acts but with a seeking and confident sense of self that calls others to do the same. Uranus moves slowly and effects are generational so the full span of what this placement will do will not be fully realized until decades later. Look to your birth chart to see where inspiration of clarification of self may be occurring in your life.

Taurus Full Moon 11/2014

So the Taurus full moon is taking place on 11/6 around 5:30pm ET. It opposes the sun in Scorpio (of course) and opposes Venus in Scorpio as well.

Full moons are a great time to look at our progress and make adjustments. This full moon happens in the axis of personal wealth and community wealth. It speaks to what we attain for ourselves and what we share with others. What we keep for ourselves and what we eliminate for the good of others.

This full moon would be good for us to think about these themes, especially when we see that Venus is in the sign of intimacy and transform. What possessions are we emotionally attached to that may be forcing us into a pattern of stagnation? Our higher consciousness and inherent ability to attract the things and people that we need want to streamline and transform, to make room for deeper and unseen connections while the effect of the Taurus full moon assists us in languishing in what we have accumulated.

Balancing the need to hold on and let go is at the heart of this configuration but the added energy of Venus in Scorpio asks us all to share what we have to make room for more. Yes, Scorpio energy can be possessive but at its heart it yearns to connect and meld with a select few.

I have inside knowledge cause I’m a Scorpio sun lol

Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse 10/2014

There is a blood moon ahead *cue spooky music*

image

A full moon and lunar eclipse will take place at 6:49am Eastern Time. The sun will be at 15° Libra and the moon will be at its fullest opposite it. Full moons signal a push for completion and fulfillment of goals that we started at the beginning of the lunar cycle. Toss in a lunar eclipse and the need to reach completion and release is heightened.

The emotional need to assert our individual self is ripe. Aries houses both the moon and Uranus so moments can happen that beg us to burst forth in emotionally erratic and eccentric ways. Opposite the sun in Libra, we could walk a tightrope between me and we that seems a bit shakier than usual.

The moon’s nodes are involved in this full moon and eclipse. The Nodes are mathematical points where the orbit of the moon intersect the ecliptic. In simple terms, it is where the moon crosses the sun’s path. This moon will sit tightly with the south node, the instinctual things that come natural. The sun sits tightly with the north node, the new things we yearn to cultivate. Use this info and your knowledge of the Aries/Libra axis as you will. (I would suggest that while you strive to “be yourself”, you push to do so in relationships that fulfill you and stretch you to define more than just your differences)

All in all, this full moon and eclipse could bring a lot of relationship issues to the forefront. Even the relationship we have with ourselves. Howl if you need to but maybe you should cry out with (and to) a good friend.
