Happy 2015 Solstice Earth

On December 21, 2015 at 11:49ET, the Soltice will be exact. In the Northern  hemisphere, it will signal Winter and for the Southern it will signal Summer. Either way, harsh weather is coming and whether you impose energy of Capricorn on the idea of icy wasteland or on scorching dryness, they both carry the same theme.

It is the theme of being ruled by the immediate necessity to make lasting results. It is about taking what is largely deemed currently unusable by many and building a legacy upon it. In the North, it is the rebirth of the Sun. downloadThe winter solstice does not signal His immediate return though. There is a gradual building of the Sun’s vitality that has to take place that is often glossed over here. Yes, the day begins to grow longer but there is a period of waiting that needs to happen before seeds can grow and life can speed back up to the pace that occurred before winter’s slumber.

That is the Capricorn energy we know. Most people prefer the shoulder seasons (spring and fall) due to their more balanced nature. The cold and heat are better balanced and we as humans are better able to navigate and accomplish our goals during these times. Winter and Summer, however, are harsh. Winter brings a cold that causes most of us to huddle indoors and wait for the bone chilling temps to pass. Summer brings about heat that cause most to dream of abandoning working due to lack of productivity. That is the framework that Capricorn works in and that is why its ambitious ideas are legendary. Capricorn energy sees that there is still a way to make things happen during these barren times but patience is key.

We can attribute this to Capricorn being an Earth element. Earth elements deal in practical manifestation. Even with a Cardinal modality, Capricorn is willing to wait. The payoff down the line, just outside of its immediate view, is the goal of Capricorn energy. This is what we celebrate. We celebrate the ability to hold on. To see a glimmer of hope and nurture that seed into something that many just luck up on. Capricorn is about respecting time enough to let it work on our side. To dial into the cyclical nature of life and the universe and use it to our benefit on a practical and material scale. Because honestly, who during their first encounter with harsh and unfogiving winter believes that budding flowers will come again in time. Capricorn does and understands that moving forward not just in faith but with preparation and extended action will bring about the harvests of spring and fall.

I hope this Yule/Winter Solstice embues you with the “sticktoitness” that Capricorn is known for and that you are able to plan for the future while balancing the need to live for today.

12/21/2014- Winter Solstice and Capricorn’s focus

The Winter Solstice is happening today and a lot is going down. The Sun moves into Capricorn, the last new moon of the year occurs and Uranus goes station direct today.

At 6:17pm ET, the sun moves into the sign of Capricorn. We, in the northern hemisphere will experience the longest span of night for the year. Capricornwpid-images.png themes include perseverance and long term planning. How else could you survive the longest night and the harsh of winter that is coming if you don’t plan ahead? Personally, we should all be looking to plant seeds for long term gain right now. Sagittarius teaches us to celebrate in the here and now but Capricorn assures us that it will continually shift and we should be prepared for it.

A cardinal sign, Capricorn is not afraid to move forward but does it with slow yet even sure footedness that turns an acorn into a towering tree in the years to come. Being rooted in earth, Capricorn colors our thoughts with what we need in the material plane right now to sustain ourselves through harsh times. Are you willing or even prepared to tough it out in order to see your wants manifested in 3D?

All of these questions should be asked before we set our intentions for the new moon happening around 8pm ET today. The things we intend to complete this moon cycle should be ones that add bricks to the foundation of our long term goals. Rememberwpid-images-35.jpg.jpeg, Capricorn does produce results but they are often seen only in their full glory down the road a bit. Look to your birth chart to see which house or section of life the new moon occurs in to get an idea of where you should be taking steps to move along your long term goals this moon cycle.

Uranus also goes station direct in Aries today after months of retrograde movement. Everywhere we have seen sparks of revolution setting fire on personal and national levels. The retrograde motion of Uranus didn’t stifle the inspiration but made it much more personal and clouded by personal agendas. As it prepares to move forward, expect new leaders to continue to step forward for fights in personal and human rights. Also lone wolves with manifestos and explosive personalities will continue to rise. A redefining of self and what one person can do will continue to occur. Use this time to continue to be inspired on your personal journey and to inspire others. Not with grand acts but with a seeking and confident sense of self that calls others to do the same. Uranus moves slowly and effects are generational so the full span of what this placement will do will not be fully realized until decades later. Look to your birth chart to see where inspiration of clarification of self may be occurring in your life.

Seize the moment and write your manifesto.

Hello Winter and Capricorn Season

Today, the sun is at the farthest point from the Northern Hemisphere. Along night, the longest of the year happened last night and the sign of Capricorn is here to usher us through the growing cold. Happy Winter Solstice!!

I always tend to believe that the ancients who started the science of astrology knew what they were doing when they saw the correlation between the zodiac signs and nature.Hard working and steadfast Capricorn seems like a well suited sign to begin winter with.Wanting long term success, Capricorn is more than willing to put down solid ground work to build the foundation for the Earth to rest while it slumbers. Capricorn knows that the fruits of its’ labor will be well worth it.

Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign. The sign of the sea goat is unafraid of taking action to move towards it goals, as a matter of fact it always seems to be doing so but things rarely come to fruition. That is until years down the line and Capricorn is sitting on top with all of its’ hard work paying off. The earth element brings about a slowness that is not seen in most Cardinal signs. It’s a good thing because just like the earth things take time and sometimes careful planning. Capricorn is manipulative and this could go either way. Without any forethought of others, it can be a sinister and relentless force that is not disguised well for they don’t feel the need to hide their want for finer things and authority. On the other hand, it can be a subtle raising of the bar for not just themselves but those who surround them as well.

Saturn rules Capricorn and gives the sea goat even more of a grounded quality. Saturn represents limits, boundaries, foundations, and the concept of time. When we think of Capricorn all of these energies are emphasised. Saturn allows Capricorn to hold its’ self with an air of dignity and authority when it is unobstructed. Knowing the limits of your authority and power allows you to wield it with a preciseness that is necessary and almost divine. Knowing your boundaries and limits allows you to rest when a recharge is needed and move full steam ahead when you should.

Capricorn and the winter solstice reminds us that rest is not inaction. It is a period where other properties and energies can take root to give us the strength to move forward. It reminds us that slow and steady gives us energy to change the world from a barren landscape to a thriving, flourishing wonder one small step at a time.
